Alongside the console version of FIFA 14, EA have decided to launch a mobile version of the game for free. However, don’t think that this means they have cut down the features, the app is a 1.27GB download and adds new controls to the impressive game-play.

The app is free to download today and lets you play FIFA without having to pay for it. EA are planning to make money from the app via in-app purchases. This could be things like Manager mode and Ultimate Team points. It may empty your wallet a little, but it’ll prolong the joy you get out of the game.

The mobile version of FIFA 13 cost users $7 last year so this sudden swap to a freemium model has come as a surprise. Either way, it’s free, so go bag yourself a truly spectacular mobile game.
